Help Me, O LORD my God - Psalms 109:26

In Psalms one hundred nine David said, “My knees are weak through fasting; and my flesh fails of fatness. I became also a reproach unto them: when they looked upon me they shook their heads”, and in chapter one hundred nine and verse twenty-six of Psalms David said, “Help me, O LORD my God” where we read,

Help me, O LORD my God: O save me according to your mercy:

The verse begins, Help me, O LORD my God:” David began with the words, “Help me, O LORD” or “succor, give aid and assist me, David, Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name of the One True God” “my God” which means “my Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”. David called upon his Divine judge Jehovah God to give him aid.

The verse goes on to say, “O save me according to your mercy:” David continued with the words, “O save me” or “O rescue, deliver and liberate me, David” “according to your mercy” which means “in line with and pursuant to your, Jehovah God's, goodness, kindness and faithfulness”. David desired that Jehovah God rescue him in line with His goodness and kindness.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David called upon Jehovah God to give him aid, and he wanted God to rescue and deliver Him in accordance with His goodness, kindness and faithfulness. David knew God would “help” him because God is good, kind and faithful. A personal relationship with God may be attained by anyone who will surrender to His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of the world. When we believe and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, we will be forgiven of our sins, granted everlasting life, “helped” and “saved” accordance to His perfect will and plan.

Next time David says, “that they may know that this is your hand”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
