In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “A naughty person, a wicked man, walks with a froward mouth”, and in chapter six and verse thirteen of Proverbs Solomon said, “he winks with his eyes, he speaks with his feet” where we read,
He winks with his eyes, he speaks with his feet, he teaches with his fingers;
The verse begins, “He winks with his eyes, he speaks with his feet, ...”. Solomon began with the words, “he winks with his eyes” or “he, the naughty and wicked person, narrows, forms, pinches and squeezes his eyelids by the use of his physical eyes”, “he speaks” which means “he, the naughty and wicked person” “with his feet” or “ by the use of his, the person whether male or female's, physical feet”. Solomon said the naughty and wicked person not only uses their mouths in a distorted manner, but they also employ their “eyelids” to “wink” and their “feet” to make declarations.
The verse continues, “... he teaches with his fingers;” Solomon added the words, “he teaches” or “he, the naughty and wicked person, instructs, directs and informs” “with his fingers” which means “by the use of the wiggling or pointing of his, the naughty and wicked person's, physical fingers”. Solomon said the naughty and wicked person gives instruction with the pointing and wiggling of their physical “fingers”.
When we consider the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon more about the person who acts in a “naughty and wicked” manner. They use nonverbal communication with the “winks of their eyes, their feet and their fingers” to give instruction and direction to others in their pernicious ways. God's desire is to keep us from this pernicious behavior, and when we yield our lives to His Son Jesus who died on the cross for our sins, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and teach us by His Holy Spirit according to live according to His ways and separated from those who would communicate evil with their bodies.
Next time Solomon says, “frowardness is in his heart”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
