In Psalms chapter fifty seven David said, “Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early. I will praise you, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto you among the nations”, and in chapter fifty-seven and verse ten of Psalms David said, “your mercy is great unto the heavens” where we read,
For your mercy is great unto the heavens, and your truth unto the clouds.
The verse begins, “For your mercy is great unto the heavens, ...” David began with the words, “For your mercy” or “because, since and on account that your, the Divine judge Jehovah God's, goodness, kindness and faithfulness” “is great” which means “exists as large, numerous, important and distinguished” “unto the heavens” or “as far as and up to the sky, abode of the stars, atmosphere and visible universe”. David said Jehovah God's goodness, kindness and faithfulness extends beyond the sky and universe.
The verse goes on to say, “... and your truth unto the clouds.” David continued with the words, “and your truth” or “and your, Jehovah God's, firmness, sureness and reliability” “unto the clouds” which means “as far as and up to the vapor of the clouds in the sky”. David said God's veracity and reliability extends beyond the vapors of the clouds within the sky.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David acknowledges the goodness and faithfulness of Jehovah God to be so wonderful that they exceed the stars and universe, and His sureness and reliability extends beyond the vastness of the “clouds”. God is merciful, so He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die for the sins of mankind. God is truthful, and He said whosoever believes in His Son Jesus will be forgiven of their sins and granted everlasting life. (See John 3:16) We can rely upon God's “mercy and truth”, and when we yield to Jesus, we will give Him praise, honor and glory for all eternity for His wonderful benefits given to us.
Next time David says, “be exalted, O God”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
