In Psalms chapter seven David wrote, “My defense is of God, which saves the upright in heart”, and in chapter seven and verse eleven of Psalms David declared, “God is angry with the wicked every day” where we read,
God judges the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.
The verse begins, “God judges the righteous, ...” David began with the words, “God judges” which means “the ruler, judge, true and supreme Deity vindicates, governs over and executes judgment upon” “the righteous” or “the lawful, just and correct”. David shared how the true and supreme Deity vindicates and governs over people who live in a right and correct manner.
The verse goes on to say, “... and God is angry with the wicked every day.” David continued with the words, “and God” or “and the ruler, judge, true and supreme Deity” “is angry” or “denounces, expresses indignation and abhorrence” “with the wicked” which means “with people who are evil, bad, disagreeable and unkind” “every day” or “in each, the whole and total number of sunrises to sunsets”. David wrote how the supreme Deity denounces and abhors people who are evil and unkind “every day”.
When we think through the words in this verse, we learn how David knew the LORD God would vindicate and govern over people who are “right and correct”, however, there is not a day that passes when God does not abhor people who produce evil and unkindness. God knows the bondage of sin resides in every person, and that sin separates people from a relationship with God. God sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when they submit to Him, He will free and forgive them from sins and grant them everlasting life. Let us praise the LORD for sending His Son Jesus who is able to make people “righteous” even when they have previously been as the “wicked” every day.
Next time David says, “If he turn not, he will whet his sword”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
