Rejoicing in God's Salvation - Psalms 9:14

In Psalms chapter nine David said, “Have mercy upon me, O LORD; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, you that lift me up from the gates of death”, and in chapter nine and verse fourteen of Psalms David said, “I will rejoice in your salvation” where we read,

That I may show forth all your praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion:

I will rejoice in your salvation.

The verse begins, That I may show forth all your praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion:” David began with the words, “That I may show forth” which means “so I, David, will recount, relate, rehearse and declare” “all your praise” or “each, every, the whole and everything in totality according to your, Jehovah God's, song, hymn, adoration, fame, glory and thanksgiving” “in the gates” which means “within the entrance, public meeting place and space inside the city or town” “of the daughter of Zion” or “pertaining to the female child which belongs to Zion whose name means parched place and is another name for Jerusalem especially in the prophetic books”. David wanted Jehovah God to consider his afflictions which were caused by his enemies and to exalt him in the meeting place of the city of Zion or Jerusalem so he could proclaim in song and words the glory, honor and adoration of Him.

The verse continues,I will rejoice in your salvation.David added the words, “I will rejoice” or “I, David, shall exult, be glad and joyful” “in your salvation” which means “in your, Jehovah God's, deliverance, welfare and prosperity”. David said he would be “joyful and glad” because of Jehovah God's deliverance and prosperity given to him.

When we mediate upon the words in this verse, we learn how David desired to give praise and honor to Jehovah God through his words and songs because of His deliverance, and we are reading some of those words today. God loved David, and He loves every person He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind so they would have an opportunity to receive Him as their “Savior and Lord” and be forgiven of their sins. He promised to grant eternal life to everyone who submits to Jesus, and these things should encourage us to break out in song and words that glorify and honor Him. Let God Almighty be praised for His glorious deliverance for all who believe in His Son Jesus.

Next time David says, “The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
