In Psalms chapter fifty seven David said, “My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise”, and in chapter fifty-seven and verse eight of Psalms David said, “awake up, my glory” where we read,
Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.
The verse begins, “Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp:” David began with the words, “Awake up” or “be aroused, awakened and incited”, “my glory” which means “my, David's, honor, glorious, abundance, riches and splendor”; “awake” or “be aroused, awakened and incited”, “psaltery and harp” which means “lute, guitar or musical instrument, lyre or stringed instrument used for popular as well as sacred music”. David desired that his honor, riches, splendor, lute and stringed instruments to be aroused.
The verse goes on to say, “I myself will awake early.” David continued with the words, “I myself” or “I, David, my own self” “will awake early” which means “shall be aroused, excited and triumphant at the dawn or in the early morning light”. David declared that he would arise and be excited early in the morning light.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how David called upon himself and his instruments of worship to wake up, and he vowed to rise in the dawn of the morning. David knew praising Jehovah God was part of his being fixed and established within his soul. When we understand that God loves us so much that He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die for our sins and we believe and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins and grant us everlasting life. Let us join David and rise up early to give honor and praise unto Jehovah God and His Son Jesus for their provision for our salvation that causes us to arise early and give them praise.
Next time David says, “I will praise you, O Lord”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
