In Psalms chapter fifty seven David said, “Be you exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be above all the earth. They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have dug a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah”, and in chapter fifty-seven and verse seven of Psalms David said, “my heart is fixed, O God”, where we read,
My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.
The verse begins, “My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed:” David began with the words, “My heart is fixed” or “my, David's, inner man, mind, will, understanding, soul, thinking, reflection, inclination, resolution, determination and conscience exists as established, prepared, ready, right and set”, “O God” which means “O Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”, “my heart” or “my, David's, inner man, mind, will, understanding, soul, thinking, reflection, inclination, resolution, determination and conscience” “is fixed” which means “exists as established, prepared, ready, right and set”. David twice stated that his soul and mind were set, established and prepared.
The verse continues, “I will sing and give praise.” David added the words, “I will sing” or “I, David, shall render and utter words in songs and melodies” “and give praise” which means “and offer music of celebration with his voice”. David shared how he was going to break out in song and music with a voice of celebration to Jehovah God.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David knew his soul and mind were established within the Divine judge Jehovah God, and this caused him to make music with his voice in celebration to Him. God loves people, and He desires to “establish” their hearts and souls in such a way that they break out in musical songs of celebration to Him. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and anyone who believes and trusts in Him will be forgiven of their sins and granted everlasting life with God. When our souls and minds are “fixed” upon Jehovah God and His salvation we shall give honor, praise and glory to Him in song and music forever.
Next time David says, “awake up, my glory”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
