Be Exalted O God - Psalms 57:5

In Psalms chapter fifty seven David said of Jehovah God, “My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword”, and in chapter fifty-seven and verse five of Psalms David said, “be you exalted, O God”, where we read,

Be you exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be above all the earth.

The verse begins, Be you exalted, O God, above the heavens;” David began with the words, “be you exalted” or “rise up, be high, lofty and uplifted, Jehovah God”, “O God” which means “O Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”, “above the heavens” or “over the visible universe, sky and atmosphere”. David desired that the Divine judge Jehovah God to be lifted up over the universe.

The verse continues, let your glory be above all the earth.” David added the words, “let your glory” or “allow and permit your, Jehovah God's, honor, abundance, riches, splendor and dignity” “be above all the earth” which means “exist over each, every and the whole portion of the land, country, territory, district and region”. David also desired that the honor, praise and thanksgiving of Jehovah God to be over the entire world.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how David desired that Jehovah God would be lifted up above the universe, and that His honor and praise would be over all the world. God created the universe and everything within it, and His “glory” stands above all He made. David's exaltation of Him was in agreement with who He is, and when we yield our lives to His Son Jesus as our “Savior and Lord”, we align with His “glory” over everything. God sent Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and anyone who surrenders to Him will be forgiven of their sins and granted everlasting life with Him. Let us join David in giving praise, honor and exaltation to Jehovah God who not only rules and reigns over everything, but also rules above our lives when we surrender to Him.

Next time David says, “they have prepared a net for my steps”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
