Deliver Me from Workers of Iniquity - Psalms 59:2

In Psalms chapter fifty nine David said, “Deliver me from my enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me”, and in chapter fifty-nine and verse two of Psalms David said, “Deliver me from the workers of iniquity” where we read,

Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.

The verse begins, Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, ... David began with the words, “Deliver me” or “snatch away, rescue, save and pluck me, David, away”, “from the workers” which means “separate and apart from the people who commit, practice and are makers” “of iniquity” or “pertaining to trouble, wickedness, idolatry and evil”. David appealed to Jehovah God to rescue and save him from people who committed and practiced evil and wickedness.

The verse goes on to say,... and save me from bloody men. David continued with the words, “and save me” or “liberate, deliver and make me, David, victorious” “from bloody men” which means “separate and apart from people who are guilty and shed blood”. David wanted Jehovah God to liberate him from people who are guilty and shed blood.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how David desired that Jehovah God rescue and save him from people who commit and practice wickedness and evil and from those who commit bloodshed. There are people in the world who practice evil deeds and shed the blood of others, and yet Jesus came into the world to die for their sins. God sent Jesus to be crucified for every sin in the world, and when we surrender to Him as our personal “Lord and Savior”, He will forgive our sins and grant us everlasting life with Him. God's desire is to save people from their sins, and He will rescue us from those who refuse to have their iniquities and shedding of blood removed. Let us give praise, honor and glory to Jehovah God who will save us for eternity and rescue us from evil doers in this world.

Next time David says, “they lie in wait for my soul”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
