In Psalms chapter fifty six David said, “In God will I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his word. In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me”, and in chapter fifty-six and verse twelve of Psalms David said, “Your vows are upon me, O God”, where we read,
Your vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto you.
The verse begins, “Your vows are upon me, O God:” David began with the words, “Your vows” or “your, Jehovah God's, votive offerings and promises” “are upon me” which means “exist on me, David”, “O God” or “O Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”. David said the promises of the Divine judge Jehovah God were on him.
The verse continues, “I will render praises unto you.” David added the words, “I will render praises” or “I, David, shall pay, recompense, reward and perform thanksgiving, adoration and worship” “unto you” which means “to you, Divine judge Jehovah God”. David said he would repay and recompense Jehovah God the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God with thanksgiving and worship.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David understood that Jehovah God's promises were given to him, and God who cannot lie, would fulfill those promises. This caused David to break out in thanksgiving and worship to give honor and glory to God. God has promised salvation and eternal life for every person who believes and trusts in His Son Jesus who died on the cross for their sins. When we surrender our lives to Jesus, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and fulfill His promises throughout the ages to come. Let us give praise, honor and glory to Jehovah God and His Son Jesus not only for providing promises, but also who will fulfill them.
Next time David says, “You have delivered my soul from death”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
