Melting Away as Continual Waters - Psalms 58:7

In Psalms chapter fifty eight David appealed to Jehovah God concerning the wicked to, “Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O LORD”, and in chapter fifty-eight and verse seven of Psalms David said, “Let them melt away as waters which run continually”, where we read,

Let them melt away as waters which run continually:

when he bends his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces.

The verse begins, “Let them melt away as waters which run continually: David began with the words, “Let them melt away” or “allow and permit them, the wicked, to be rejected, despised and refused” “as waters which run continually” which means “in likeness to water which flows or runs away”. David appealed to Jehovah God to allow the wicked to be rejected and refused like water which flows away.

The verse goes on to say, when he bends his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces. David continued with the words, “when he bends his bow” or “at the time and moment he, the wicked, pulls back or draws their hunting bow” “to shoot his arrows” which means “to put to flight his, the wicked's, sharpened darts, shafts or spears”, “let them be as cut in pieces” or “allow and permit them, the wicked, to cut off or down to destruction”. David said at the time and moment the wicked draws back their bow to let a sharpened “arrow” fly, allow them to be cut off and destroyed.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how David continued to turn the wicked over to the judgment of Jehovah God. He desired that they be rejected and despised like water that flows away, and at the time they desire to used their “bow and arrows”, Jehovah God would spoil their efforts. God loves people, and His desire is to save all of us through His Son Jesus. However, should we refuse and reject His Son Jesus, we will be judged by Jehovah God for our acts and deeds. When we surrender to Jesus we will be forgiven of our sins and granted everlasting life with God, otherwise we will come under the judgment of Jehovah God and woe be to us if we reject His plan of salvation.

Next time David says, “As a snail which melts, let every one of them pass away”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
