In Psalms chapter fifty eight David appealed to Jehovah God concerning the wicked to, “Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O LORD. Let them melt away as waters which run continually: when he bends his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces”, and in chapter fifty-eight and verse eight of Psalms David said, “As a snail which melts, let every one of them pass away” where we read,
As a snail which melts, let every one of them pass away:
like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun.
The verse begins, “As a snail which melts, let every one of them pass away:” David began with the words, “As a snail” or “in likeness to a snail floating in it's own slime” “which melts” which means “that dissolves, liquifies and disappears”, “let every one of them” or “allow and permit each, the whole and all of the wicked” “pass away” which means “depart, proceed, traverse and be carried apace”. David desired that Jehovah God permit every wicked person to dissolve and disappear like the “snail” floating on it's own slime.
The verse continues, “like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun.” David added the words, “like the untimely birth” or “in the same manner as an abortion or miscarriage” “of a woman” which means “belonging to a female human being”, “that they may not see the sun” or “so the wicked will not behold, observe or perceive the rising sun in the sky”. David said to allow the wicked to “pass away” like a miscarriage so they are unable to observe the sun in the sky.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how David continued to desire that Jehovah God carry out vengeance upon the wicked people. This time he employs the example of a melting “snail” to call upon God to dissolve the wicked, and he used a miscarriage of a woman to request that the wicked never be permitted to observe the sun in the sky. David knew God would bring judgment upon the wicked because He loved him, and Jehovah God sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of every person because He loves us. He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and become our defense and protection when we yield to His Son Jesus as our personal “Savior and Lord”. Let us join with David and allow God to bring justice upon the wicked while we align with Him and His salvation for us.
Next time David says, “Before your pots can feel the thorns, he shall take them away”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
