In Psalms chapter fifty eight David asked, “Do you indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do you judge uprightly, O you sons of men? Yes, in heart you work wickedness; you weigh the violence of your hands in the earth”, and in chapter fifty-eight and verse three of Psalms David said, “the wicked are estranged from the womb” where we read,
The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.
The verse begins, “The wicked are estranged from the womb:” David began with the words, “the wicked” or “the criminal, guilty and ones hostile to God” “are estranged” which means “exist as foreign, loathsome and alienated” “from the womb” or “apart and separate from the matrix or place of birth”. David said people who are evil and hostile to God are alienated from their place of birth.
The verse goes on to say, “they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.” David continued with the words, “they go astray” or “they, the wicked, wander, err, sin and stagger” “as soon as they be born” which means “from the time of their birth from the belly or body”, “speaking lies” or “declaring, conversing, commanding, promising, warning and threatening untruths, falsehoods and deception”. David said the wicked err and stagger from righteous ways at the time of their birth, and they utter falsehoods and deceptions to validate it.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David knew “wicked” people were hostile to God from the time of their birth, and they went around speaking falsehoods to prove it. God knows the acts and deeds of every person, and because “all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (See Romans 3:23), He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of everyone. Paul said, “there is none righteous, no, not one” (See Romans 3:10) and anyone who believes and trusts in Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord” will be forgiven and cleansed of their sins and granted everlasting life with God. If they refuse, they remain in their sin and their going “astray” and “speaking lies” will continue throughout their lives.
Next time David says, “Their poison is like the poison of a serpent”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
