Bow Down Your Heavens O LORD - Psalms 144:5

In Psalms one hundred and forty four David said, “Man is like to vanity: his days are as a shadow that passes away”, and in chapter one hundred and forty four and verse five of Psalms David said, Bow your heavens, O LORD, and come downwhere we read,

Bow your heavens, O LORD, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.

The verse begins, Bow your heavens, O LORD, and come down: David began with the words, “bow your heavens” or “bend, stretch and spread out your, Jehovah God's, visible sky, atmosphere and Heavenly abode”, “O LORD” which means “O Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”, “and come down” or “and descend, decline, march and bring yourself low”. David called upon Jehovah God to bend the visible sky, atmosphere and His Heavenly abode and descend toward him.

The verse goes on to say, “touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.” David continued with the words, “touch the mountains” or “and reach out to strike the risings above the plains, range of mountains and hill country”, “and they shall smoke” which means “and they, the mountains, will fume”. David said if Jehovah God were to “touch” the ranges of mountains, they would fume with a smokey vapor.

When we think through the words in this verse, we discover how David in poetic form wanted Jehovah God to visit the mountain ranges of the earth. If God were to “touch” the risings above the plains, they would certainly “fume” and “smoke” from His presence. This Almighty God desires to have a personal relationship with us through His Son Jesus, and when we yield our lives to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to experience His powerful presence for all eternity.

Next time David says, cast forth lightning, and scatter them, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
