Peace Within Your Borders - Psalms 147:14

In Psalms one hundred and forty seven the Psalmist said “Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise your God, O Zion. For he has strengthened the bars of your gates; he has blessed your children within you”, and in chapter one hundred forty seven and verse fourteen of Psalms the Psalmist said of Jehovah God, “he makes peace in your borders” where we read,

He makes peace in your borders, and fills you with the finest of the wheat.

The verse begins, He makes peace in your borders, .... The Psalmist began with the words, “he makes peace” or “he, Jehovah God, puts, places, appoints, causes and produces completeness, soundness, welfare, calm and tranquility” “in your borders” which means “within your, the people of Jerusalem's, territory, region, coast and space”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God causes soundness, calm and tranquility within the region occupied by the people of Jerusalem.

The verse continues, “... and fills you with the finest of the wheat.” The Psalmist added the words, “and fills you” or “and satisfies, sates and surfeits you, the people of Jerusalem” “with the finest of the wheat” which means “along and beside the fat, choice, abundant and best part belonging to the grain, plant or flour”. The Psalmist shared how Jehovah God satisfied the people of Jerusalem with the best and choice part of flour grain.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist shared concerning the calm and tranquility that Jehovah God provided to the city of Jerusalem, and not only did He protect them, He provided them with the best of the grain. God loves to provide for and protect people, and because He desires to live with us for all eternity, He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us provision and protection for all the days of our lives.

Next time the Psalmist says of Jehovah God, “he sends forth his commandment upon earth”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
