The LORD Opens the Eyes of the Blind - Psalms 146:8

In Psalms one hundred and forty six the Psalmist said, “Happy is he that has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God. Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keeps truth for ever. Which executes judgment for the oppressed: which gives food to the hungry. The LORD looses the prisoners”, and in chapter one hundred forty six and verse eight of Psalms the Psalmist said, “the LORD opens the eyes of the blind” where we read,

The LORD opens the eyes of the blind: the LORD raises them that are bowed down:

the LORD loves the righteous:

The verse begins, The LORD opens the eyes of the blind: the LORD raises them that are bowed down:. The Psalmist began with the words, “the LORD” or “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “opens the eyes” which means “makes observant the physical eyes or mental and spiritual capacities” “of the blind” or “belonging to people who are unable to see both physically and spiritually”:“the LORD” which means “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “raises them that are bowed down” or “comforts and uplifts them, the people who are blind, who exist as bent low, curved, distressed and humiliated”. (See Isaiah 61:1; Luke 4:18-19) The Psalmist said Jehovah God makes the physical and spiritual eyes of people who cannot see to be observant, and He lifts up people who are humiliated and distressed.

The verse continues, “the LORD loves the righteous:” The Psalmist added the words, “the LORD” or “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “loves the righteous” which means “has great affection, appetite and friendship toward people who are right, just, correct and lawful”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God is greatly affectionate toward people who are just, right and lawful.

When we consider the Psalmist's words in this verse, we discover how Jehovah God is involved in the lives of people who are unable to see both physically and spiritually, and He lifts up people who have been humbled and distressed. He is greatly affectionate for people who are lawful and correct, and He desires to have a personal relationship with us through His Son Jesus who died on the cross for our sins. When we yield our lives to Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will open our eyes, forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and minister to us as we align with His law and live in a correct manner before Him.

Next time the Psalmist says, “the LORD preserves the strangers”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
