Quicken Me, O LORD - Psalms 143:11

In Psalms one hundred and forty three David said to Jehovah God, “Teach me to do your will; for you are my God: your spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness”, and in chapter one hundred and forty three and verse eleven of Psalms David said to Jehovah God, quicken me, O LORDwhere we read,

Quicken me, O LORD, for your name's sake: for your righteousness' sake bring my soul out of trouble.

The verse begins, Quicken me, O LORD, for your name's sake: David began with the words, “Quicken me” or “revive, sustain and preserve me, David”, “O LORD” which means “O Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”, “for your name's sake” or “on behalf of your, Jehovah God's, fame, reputation and glory's purpose and intent”. David called upon Jehovah God to revive and preserve him for His reputation's intention.

The verse goes on to say, “for your righteousness' sake bring my soul out of trouble.” David continued with the words, “for your righteousness' sake” or “because, since and on account that the cause of your, Jehovah God's, rightness, justice and correctness” “bring my soul” which means “lead, guide, carry and make my, David's, heart, mind, will, desires, living being, conscience and seat of emotions and affections, to proceed” “out of trouble” or “from straits, distress and vexation”. David called upon Jehovah God to lead him away from his distresses and vexations because of His justice and correctness.

When we meditate upon David's words in this verse, we learn how he wanted Jehovah God to revive and preserve him for His own purposes. David knew he could depend upon God''s deliverance from his distresses because God is just and right. God wants to establish a personal relationship with every person through His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of the whole world. When we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and lead us away from distresses and difficulties according to His perfect plan and will for our lives.

Next time David says to Jehovah God, of your mercy cut off my enemies, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
