God Sending His Commandment Upon Earth - Psalms 147:15

In Psalms one hundred and forty seven the Psalmist said “Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise your God, O Zion. For he has strengthened the bars of your gates; he has blessed your children within you. He makes peace in your borders, and fills you with the finest of the wheat”, and in chapter one hundred forty seven and verse fifteen of Psalms the Psalmist said of Jehovah God, “he sends forth his commandment upon earth” where we read,

He sends forth his commandment upon earth: his word runs very swiftly.

The verse begins, He sends forth his commandment upon earth:. The Psalmist began with the words, “he sends forth his commandment” or “he, Jehovah God, dispatches and assigns his, Jehovah God's, utterance, speech, word and order” “upon earth” which means “on the region, territory, district, country and world”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God dispatches His order and word upon the world.

The verse goes on to say, “his word runs very swiftly .” The Psalmist continued with the words, “his word” or “his, Jehovah God's, speech, speaking, utterance, business, matter and manner” “runs very swiftly” which means “darts, moves and causes to run away extremely hastily, speedily and promptly”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God's speaking and manner moves in a speedy and hasty fashion.

When we think through the words in this verse, we discover how the Psalmist referred to Jehovah God assigning His word and order to the world, and not only did He dispatch it, He sent it out in a speedy fashion. God's word is valuable to mankind, and when He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, He gave us an opportunity to receive Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”. (See John 1:14) When we receive Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and put His “word” within us even as He has provided it to the world.

Next time the Psalmist says of Jehovah God, “he gives snow like wool”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
