Sons as Plants Grown Up - Psalms 144:12

In Psalms one hundred and forty four David said to Jehovah God, “Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaks vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood”, and in chapter one hundred and forty four and verse twelve of Psalms David said, that our sons may be as plants grown upwhere we read,

That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth;

that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:

The verse begins, That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; David began with the words, “that our sons” or “so our, David and his fellow countrymen's, offspring and progeny” “may be as plants grown up” which means “might exist like unto vegetation that has become great, important, powerful and praised” “in their youth” or “within their, the sons of David and his fellow countrymen's, early life or childhood”. David wanted God to “rid” him of the “hand of strange children” so his and his fellow countrymen's children would exist like vegetation that has become great in their early life.

The verse continues,that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:” David added the words, “that our daughters” or “so our, David and his fellow countrymen's, female children or progeny” “may be as corner stones” which means “will exist like unto prominent angles or corner columns”, “polished” or “cut, gathered and carved” “after a similitude of a palace” which means “in likeness and similar to a pattern, plan, form, construction or structure belonging to a temple, nave, sanctuary or nave”. David desired that his and his people's female offspring exist like the prominent carved corner columns within a temple, nave or sanctuary.

When we think through the words in this verse, we discover how David wanted the best for his and his people's offspring. He wanted their “male offspring” to be like vegetation within the early life, and he wanted their “female offspring” to exist like carved corner columns in a temple or nave. In other words, David wanted them to prosper. God wants the same for us, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, so that when we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and help us and our offspring to prosper abundantly in accordance with His will.

Next time David says, that our garners may be full, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
