The LORD Shall Reign Forever - Psalms 146:10

In Psalms one hundred and forty six the Psalmist said, “The LORD opens the eyes of the blind: the LORD raises them that are bowed down: the LORD loves the righteous. The LORD preserves the strangers; he relieves the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turns upside down”, and in chapter one hundred forty six and verse ten of Psalms the Psalmist said, “the LORD shall reign for ever” where we read,

The LORD shall reign for ever, even your God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise you the LORD.

The verse begins, The LORD shall reign for ever, even your God, O Zion, unto all generations.. The Psalmist began with the words, “the LORD” or “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “shall reign for ever” which means “will take counsel and rule, for long duration, unto futurity, everlasting, perpetually and unto perpetuity”, “even your God” or “your, Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”, “O Zion” which means “O Zion whose name means parched place and is another name for Jerusalem especially in the prophetic books”, “unto all generations” or “toward each, every, the whole and everyone of the ages, habitations and periods of time”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God will rule eternally, and as the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God of Jerusalem He will remain unto every age and period of people.

The verse continues, “Praise you the LORD.” The Psalmist added the words, “praise you” or “you people who are reading and listening to the Psalmist's words give thanksgiving, adoration and worship to” “the LORD” which means “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. The Psalmist repeated his word from the first verse in this Psalm as he exhorted his readers and listeners to give adoration and thanksgiving to Jehovah God.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist added the idea that Jehovah God is eternal, the Divine judge of Jerusalem and would remain throughout every age that is alive. God loves everyone from every period of time, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of everyone who has ever lived. God raised Jesus from the dead three days later, and now anyone who believes and trusts in Him as their personal “Savior and Lord” will be forgiven of their sins, granted everlasting life and given the opportunity to bestow adoration, thanksgiving and honor upon Him for all eternity.

Next time we begin a new chapter and see the Psalmist say, “it is good to sing praises unto our God”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
