Salvation unto Kings - Psalms 144:10

In Psalms one hundred and forty four David said, “I will sing a new song unto you, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto you”, and in chapter one hundred and forty four and verse ten of Psalms David said about Jehovah God, it is he that gives salvation unto kingswhere we read,

It is he that gives salvation unto kings: who delivers David his servant from the hurtful sword.

The verse begins, It is he that gives salvation unto kings: David began with the words, “it is he that gives salvation” or “he, Jehovah God, puts, sets, ascribes, grants, bestows and dedicates rescue, liberation and deliverance” “unto kings” which means “toward royal rulers and leaders”. David referred to how Jehovah God granted and bestowed rescue and deliverance to royal rulers and leaders.

The verse continues, “who delivers David his servant from the hurtful sword.” David added the words, “who delivers David” or “who, Jehovah God, rescues, saves and liberates David whose name means blessed and was the second king of Israel” “his servant” which means “his, Jehovah God's, bondman, man of servile condition and worshiper” “from the hurtful sword” or “separate and apart from the bad, malignant, unpleasant, evil and displeasing knife, sharp implement, axe, dagger or tool for cutting stone”. David said Jehovah God liberated him as God's bondman and worshiper apart from the malignant and evil knife or dagger.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David shared about his salvation by Jehovah God from royal rulers and harmful weapons of battle. David knew God was His defense, and because he had a personal relationship with God, David depended upon Him for protection against influential evil people. God loves everyone, and His desire is to be the protector and defense for them through His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we yield our lives to Jesus as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and protect us from powerful leaders and the weapons they use for war.

Next time David says, rid me, and deliver me, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
