The LORD Preserves - Psalms 145:20

In Psalms one hundred and forty five David said to Jehovah God, “The LORD is near unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them”, and in chapter one hundred and forty five and verse twenty of Psalms David said, the LORD preserves all them that love himwhere we read,

The LORD preserves all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy.

The verse begins, The LORD preserves all them that love him:”. David began with the words, “the LORD preserves” or “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name of the One True God keeps, guards, observes, gives heed to and protects” “all them” which means “each, every, the whole and everyone of the people whether male or female” “that love him” or “who have deep affection and passion for him, Jehovah God”. David said Jehovah God keeps and protects every person who has deep affection and passion for Him.

The verse goes on to say, “but all the wicked will he destroy.” David continued with the words, “but all the wicked” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover each, every, the whole and everyone who is criminal, guilty of sin, evil and hostile to God” “will he destroy” which means “shall he, Jehovah God, overthrow, exterminate, annihilate and destroy”. David shared how Jehovah God shall destroy people who are evil and guilty of sin.

When we consider David's words in this verse, we discover at least two sides of Jehovah God. God wants to keep and protect people who are passionate toward Him, and He will judge and destroy people who are evil and hostile to Him. God knows “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (See Romans 3:23), and He also knows “the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (See Romans 6:23). He sent His Son Jesus into the world because, “God so loved the world, that He sent His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life”. (See John 3:16) When we surrender our lives to Jesus, forsake our sinful ways and pour out our love toward Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and “preserve” us for all eternity while He judges and destroys those who refuse and reject Him. (See Romans 10:9-10)

Next time David says, my mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
