In Psalms one hundred and forty five David said, “Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised: and his greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall praise your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts”, and in chapter one hundred and forty five and verse five of Psalms David said to Jehovah God, “I will speak of the glorious honor of your majesty” where we read,
I will speak of the glorious honor of your majesty, and of your wondrous works.
The verse begins, “I will speak of the glorious honor of your majesty, ...” David began with the words, “I will speak” or “I, David, shall utter, declare and make proclamation” “of the glorious honor” which means “pertaining to the honorable, splendorous, reverent and copious ornament, excellence and goodly comeliness and beauty” “of your majesty” or “belonging to your, Jehovah God's, grandeur, comeliness, glory and honor”. David shared how he would declare the splendorous comeliness and beauty of Jehovah God's glory and honor.
The verse continues, “... and of your wondrous works.” David added the words, “and of your” or “and pertaining to your, Jehovah God's” “wondrous works” which means “marvelous, surpassing and extraordinary acts and deeds”. David said he would also share about Jehovah God's marvelous and extraordinary deeds.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we discover how David was determined to declare the honorable and splendorous beauty of Jehovah God's glory. He also purposed to share about Jehovah God's marvelous and extraordinary acts and deeds. God is worthy of our praise, honor and glory, and because He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, when we celebrate His greatest work and yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us an opportunity to share His excellence and surpassing deeds to others in the world.
Next time David says, “men shall speak of the might of your terrible acts”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
