In Psalms one hundred and forty three David said to Jehovah God, “Deliver me, O LORD, from my enemies: I flee unto you to hide me”, and in chapter one hundred and forty three and verse ten of Psalms David said to Jehovah God, “Teach me to do your will” where we read,
Teach me to do your will; for you are my God:
your spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.
The verse begins, “Teach me to do your will; for you are my God:” David began with the words, “teach me to do your will” or “instruct, train and exercise me, David, to accomplish, fashion, make and produce your, Jehovah God's, pleasure, delight, favor, goodwill and acceptance”; “for you are my God” which means “because, since and on account that you, Jehovah God, exist as my, David's, Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”. David appealed to Jehovah God to instruct him in that which pleased Him because Jehovah God was David's Divine ruler, judge and Supreme God.
The verse continues, “your spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.” David added the words, “your spirit” or “your, Jehovah God's, breath, mind, vivacity and vigor” “is good” which means “exists as pleasant, agreeable, excellent, rich and valuable in estimation”; “lead me” or “guide, bring and bestow me, David” “into the land” which means “into the country, territory, district, region and earth” “of uprightness” or “pertaining to a level, plain, straight, right and just place”. David told Jehovah God that His mind and vigor exists as pleasant and agreeable, and he wanted God to guide him into the territory that is level, straight, right and just.
When we consider the words in this verse, we discover how David wanted to be instructed by Jehovah God according to His pleasure and delight. David knew God was the Divine judge and ruler, and His mind and vigor was pleasant and agreeable. When God was in control of David's life, David would be guided toward a region that was right and just. God wants this type of involvement in our lives as well. He sent His Son Jesus to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind so that we could be forgiven of our sins, granted everlasting life and enjoy an intimate relationship with Him forever. God will “teach” us. God is “good”, and God will guide us every day of our lives when we surrender to His Son Jesus.
Next time David says, “Quicken me, O LORD, for your name's sake”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
