One Generation to Another - Psalms 145:4

In Psalms one hundred and forty five David said, “Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised: and his greatness is unsearchable, and in chapter one hundred and forty five and verse four of Psalms David said to Jehovah God, One generation shall praise your works to anotherwhere we read,

One generation shall praise your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.

The verse begins, One generation shall praise your works to another, ... David began with the words, “one generation” or “a single period, habitation or age” “shall praise your works” which means “will laud, commend and congratulate your, Jehovah God's, acts, deeds, labors and undertakings” “to another” or “to other generations, periods, habitations and ages”. David said a group of people living in a certain age would give honor and laud concerning Jehovah God's acts and deeds to people living in other periods and ages.

The verse goes on to say,and shall declare your mighty acts.David added the words, “and shall declare” or “and will tell, make known, announce and expound” “your mighty acts” which means “your, Jehovah God's, powerful, strong, victorious and brave deeds”. David said the generations would make known Jehovah God's powerful and victorious deeds.

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn how David knew the knowledge and glory of Jehovah God was to be passed from one “generation” of people to another. God has been with people since their creation, and His desire is to have a personal relationship with them through His Son Jesus. He sent Jesus into the world to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we believe and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us an opportunity to “praise” His “works” and “declare His mighty acts” to our children, our children's children and to people in every “generation” to come.

Next time David says, I will speak of the glorious honor of your majesty, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
