What Is Man that God is Mindful of Him! - Psalms 144:3

In Psalms one hundred and forty four David said, “Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teaches my hands to war, and my fingers to fight. My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdues my people under me”, and in chapter one hundred and forty four and verse three of Psalms David said, LORD, what is man, that you take knowledge of him!where we read,

LORD, what is man, that you take knowledge of him!

or the son of man, that you make account of him!

The verse begins, LORD, what is man, that you take knowledge of him! David began with the words, “LORD, what is man” or “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God, whatsoever is a person whether male or female”, “that you take knowledge of him” which means “that you, Jehovah God, know, perceive, see, discern, discriminate and distinguish him, a person whether male or female”! David was amazed that Jehovah God considered and acknowledged people who were so much less than God. (See Psalm 8:4)

The verse goes on to say,or the son of man, that you make account of him!” David continued with the words, “or the son of man” or “or the offspring or progeny belonging to people whether male or female”, “that you make account of him” which means “that you, Jehovah God, think about, esteem, calculate, count and make a judgment pertaining to a person whether male or female”. David continued to share his amazement that God would consider people and their offspring as great as He is.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how David was amazed that Jehovah God would even acknowledge people at all never mind their offspring. God loves people. He made us, gave us life, sustains our breath and desires to have a personal relationship with us through His Son Jesus who died on the cross for our sins. When we surrender our lives to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and regard and take account of us as His children throughout all eternity.

Next time David says, Man is like to vanity, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
