In Psalms one hundred four the Psalmist said, “Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, you are very great; you are clothed with honor and majesty. Who covers yourself with light as with a garment: who stretches out the heavens like a curtain”, and in chapter one hundred four and verse three of Psalms the Psalmist said, “Who lays the beams of his chambers in the waters” where we read,
Who lays the beams of his chambers in the waters: who makes the clouds his chariot:
who walks upon the wings of the wind:
The verse begins, “Who lays the beams of his chambers in the waters: who makes the clouds his chariot:” The Psalmist began with the words, “who lays the beams” or “who, Jehovah God, pre-arranges, presents and appoints the timbers” “of his chambers” which means “belonging to his, Jehovah God's, roof-room, loft or parlor” “in the waters” or “within the refreshing springs, floods or waters”: “who makes the clouds” which means “who, Jehovah God, sets, appoints and establishes the thicket, darkness and cloud masses as” “his chariot” or “his, Jehovah God's, warlike vehicle”. The Psalmist shared concerning the ability of Jehovah God to form the structure and frame of His loft or parlor within the waters of the world, and He fashions the thickets in the sky for His vehicle of war or battle.
The verse goes on to say, “who walks upon the wings of the wind:” The Psalmist continues with the words, “who walks” or “who, Jehovah God, ambles about and makes His way” “upon the wings” which means “on the extremities, edge, border, skirts and corners” “of the wind” or “belonging to the breath, spirit, breeze and air”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God makes His way on the extremities and skirts of the air.
When we think through the words in this verse, we learn how the Psalmist attempted to describe the ability of God to construct His dwelling place and make His way and progress. God builds; God makes His way among the world, and He is able to do things that no other can do. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we surrender our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and reveal His powerful abilities to us throughout eternity.
Next time the Psalmist says of Jehovah God, “Who makes his angels spirits”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
