Israel Gathered Out of the Lands - Psalms 107:3

In Psalms one hundred seven the Psalmist said, “Give thanks unto the LORD, for He is good, for his mercy endures for ever. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he has redeemed from the hand of the enemy”, and in chapter one hundred seven and verse three of Psalms the Psalmist speaking of Israel said Jehovah God, gathered them out of the lands where we read,

And gathered them out of the lands,

from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.

The verse begins, And gathered them out of the lands, ... The Psalmist began with the words, “and gathered them” or “and assembled and collected together them, the people of Israel” “out of the lands” which means “from the country, territory, district, region and earth”. The Psalmist shared how Jehovah God assembled the people of Israel from all over the earth.

The verse goes on to say,... from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south. The Psalmist continued with the words, “from the east” or “separate and apart from the eastward direction”, “and from the west” which means “and separate and apart from the westward direction”, “from the north” or “and separate and apart from the northern direction”, “and from the south” which means “and separate and apart from the southern direction”. The Psalmist shared how the people of Israel were assembled from the east, west, north and south.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist recalled the way Jehovah God assembled the people of Israel from all over the earth. The people of Israel were drawn together from the east, west, north and south, and God was orchestrating their assembly. God loves the people of Israel, and He brought them back to the promise land as recently as 1948. He meant for Israel to be the nation through whom all the world would be saved. Jesus, God's Son, was sent into the world through the people of Israel. He died on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to be assembled with His people to live with Him in Heaven forever and ever.

Next time the Psalmist said the people of Israel, wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
