Let the Redeemed of the LORD Say So - Psalms 107:2

In Psalms one hundred seven the Psalmist said, “Give thanks unto the LORD, for He is good: for his mercy endures for ever”, and in chapter one hundred seven and verse two of Psalms the Psalmist said, “Let the redeemed of the LORD say so” where we read,

Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he has redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

The verse begins, Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, ... The Psalmist began with the words, “Let the redeemed” or “allow and permit the bought back, delivered, avenged, purchased and ransomed ones” “of the LORD” which means “belonging to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “say so” or “answer, speak boldly, boast and avow”. The Psalmist called upon people who have been avenged and delivered by Jehovah God to boldly proclaim it.

The verse continues,... whom he has redeemed from the hand of the enemy; The Psalmist goes on to say, “whom he has redeemed” or “the person that he, Jehovah God, has bought back, delivered, avenged, purchased and ransomed” “from the hand” which means “separate and apart from the hand of power, might and strength” “of the enemy” or “belonging to the hating foe and adversary”. The Psalmist identified the “redeemed” as the people whom Jehovah God delivered and avenged separate and apart from their hating foe and adversary.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist called upon people who have been delivered by Jehovah God from their enemy to boldly declare it. God delivers people from the power of sin when they believe and trust in His Son Jesus whom He sent into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we put our faith and trust in Jesus, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us an opportunity to boldly tell others what God has done for us. Let us openly declare the goodness, kindness, faithfulness and power of Jehovah God to rescue us from the power of sin, and may we invite others to receive His Son Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord” to also be delivered.

Next time the Psalmist speaking of Israel said Jehovah God, gathered them out of the lands, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
