Led Forth by the Right Way - Psalms 107:7

In Psalms one hundred seven the Psalmist said because the people of Israel were, “Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them. Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses”, and in chapter one hundred seven and verse seven of Psalms the Psalmist said Jehovah God, led them forth by the right way where we read,

And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

The verse begins, And he led them forth by the right way, ... The Psalmist began with the words, “and he led them forth” or “and he, Jehovah God, caused to walk and guided them, the people of Israel” “by the right way” which means “through the straight, upright, correct, fitting, proper and right manner, habit and course of life”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God guided the people of Israel through a fitting, proper and right manner.

The verse goes on to say,... that they might go to a city of habitation. The Psalmist continued with the words, “that they might go” or “so they, the people of Israel, could be lead, depart, proceed and move” “to a city” which means “toward an abode, dwelling place and town” “of habitation”or “of assembly, sitting and population”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God guided the people of Israel in a correct and proper manner so they could proceed toward an abode or town of population.

When we mediate upon the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist referred to the way Jehovah God guided the people of Israel through the “wilderness” even while they were “hungry and thirsty”. When we cry out to God in our distress, He will hear us and answer us according to His Divine purpose and will. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and lead us according to His purposes and plan to an eternal dwelling place with Him.

Next time the Psalmist says, Oh that men would praise the LORD, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
