God Will Heal Their Backsliding - Hosea 14:4

In the book of Hosea, Hosea said, “Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands,You are our gods: for in you the fatherless finds mercy”, and in chapter fourteen and verse four of Hosea, Hosea shared how Jehovah God said, “I will heal their backsliding” where we read,

I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for my anger is turned away from him.

The verse begins, I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely:” Hosea began with the word, “I will heal” or “I, Jehovah God, shall repair and cure” “their backsliding” which means “their, Israel's, turning away and apostasy”, “I will love them freely” or “I, Jehovah God, shall have affection and an appetite for them, the people of Israel, voluntarily, spontaneously and willingly”. Hosea shared how Jehovah God said He would cure “Israel's” apostasy from Him, and He promised to spontaneously have affection and an appetite for them.

The verse goes on to say, for my anger is turned away from him. Hosea continued with the words, “for my anger” or “because, since and on account that my, Jehovah God's, wrath and rage that wrinkles the nostrils and nose” “is turned away” which means “exists as lead to be unconnected and isolated” “from him” or “separate and apart from him, Israel”. Hosea shared how Jehovah God declared His wrath and rage to be unconnected and separated from “Israel”.

When we consider Hosea's words in this verse, we learn how Jehovah God said He would cure the apostasy of “Israel”against Him, and He would have affection for them willingly because His wrath was unconnected and separated from them. God's desire is to have a personal intimate relationship with us through His Son Jesus who was crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to enjoy His grace and mercy for all eternity.

Next time Hosea shares how Jehovah God says, “I will be as the dew unto Israel, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
