Rejoicing in the Habitable Earth - Proverbs 8:31

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said Jehovah God's wisdom was present, “While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world. When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth. When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep. When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth. Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him”, and in chapter eight and verse thirty-one of Proverbs Solomon said wisdom was, “ rejoicing in the habitable part of the earth” where we read,

Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.

The verse begins, “Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; Solomon began with the words, “rejoicing” or “laughing, playing, mocking and sporting” in the habitable part which means “within the inhabited world” “of his earth” or “belonging to Jehovah God's district, region, territory and world”. Solomon shared how “wisdom” was laughing, playing and sporting within the inhabited world possessed by Jehovah God.

The verse continues, “and my delights were with the sons of men.” Solomon added the words, “and my delights” or “and my, wisdom's, enjoyment and pleasure” “were with the sons of men” which means “existed alongside and beside the offspring and progeny belonging to people both male and female”. Solomon said “wisdom's” enjoyment and pleasure existed alongside the offspring belonging to people.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon how “wisdom” laughed and played within Jehovah God's inhabited world, and it has become the pleasure and enjoyment of the offspring of people everywhere. God loves to exhibit His “wisdom” in His creation, and among the wonders He has made are people. God wants a personal relationship with every person, and He gave His only Begotten Son Jesus to the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind to make this possible. When we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow His “wisdom” to laugh and play before us as we live before His eyes.

Next time Solomon says, “therefore hearken unto me”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
