In the book of Proverbs Solomon shared how God's wisdom is, “rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men”, and in chapter eight and verse thirty-two of Proverbs Solomon said, “therefore hearken unto me” where we read,
Now therefore hearken unto me, O you children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.
The verse begins, “Now therefore hearken unto me, O you children:” Solomon began with the words, “now therefore” or “at this time, then, wherefore and on this account” “hearken unto me” which means “understand, obey, pay attnetion and diligently listen to me, wisdom”, “O you children” or “O you, offspring and progeny of people”. Solomon called upon all the offspring of people to listen and pay attention to Him.
The verse goes on to say, “for blessed are they that keep my ways.” Solomon continues the words, “for blessed are they” or “because, since and on account that O how happy and joyful exist the people whether male or female” “that keep my ways” which means “who guard, watch over, protect, save, wait and watch for my, Jehovah God's, paths, journeys, manners and habits”. Solomon said everyone who watches over and protects Jehovah God's manners and habits exist as oh how happy and joyful.
When we consider the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon how a person becomes “O how happy”. They protect and observe the manner and habit of Jehovah God. God offers His “wise ways” to all people, and because He loves us, He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we surrender to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and teach us to observe and obey His “wisdom” so we will be “happy and joyful” in the world.
Next time Solomon says, “hear instruction, and be wise”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
