A Just Weight and Balance - Proverbs 16:11

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “A divine sentence is in the lips of the king: his mouth transgresses not in judgment”, and in chapter sixteen and verse eleven of Proverbs Solomon said, “a just weight and balance are the LORD's” where we read,

A just weight and balance are the LORD'S: all the weights of the bag are his work.

The verse begins, “A just weight and balance are the LORD'S:” Solomon began with the words, “a just weight” or “a right, lawful and worthy scale” “and balance” which means “and pair of scales for weighing” “are the LORD's” or “exists as Jehovah's who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. Solomon said Jehovah God possesses a right and worthy scale.

The verse goes on to say, “all the weights of the bag are his work.” Solomon continued with the words, “all the weights” or “each, every, the whole and everyone of the common stones and carbuncles” “of the bag” which means “belonging to the purse for money” “are his work” or “exist as his, Jehovah God's, deeds, labor and acts”. Solomon said each and every one of the stones within the purse exists as Jehovah God's acts and deeds.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon how Jehovah God not only possesses right and worthy “weights and balances”, but He possesses the fairness within every weight within the purse. God wants us to be righteous and just in business acts and deeds. God loves us, and His desire is to have an intimate personal relationship with us through His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we yield to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and teach us to be “just and right” in business and everything we do.
