In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “a violent man entices his neighbor, and leads him into the way that is not good”, and in chapter sixteen and verse thirty of Proverbs Solomon said, “he shuts his eyes to devise froward things” where we read,
He shuts his eyes to devise froward things: moving his lips he brings evil to pass.
The verse begins, “He shuts his eyes to devise froward things:” Solomon began with the words, “he shuts his eyes” or “the violent person whether male or female fashions and makes firm their physical eyes” “to devise froward things” which means “to think, plan, esteem, calculate, invent and imagine perverse and fraudulent acts and deeds”. Solomon said the “violent” person closes their physical eyes to think about and imagine perverse and fraudulent works and acts.
The verse continues, “moving his lips he brings evil to pass.” Solomon added the words, “moving his lips” or “narrowing, pinching and squeezing the violent person's physical lips used for speaking” “he brings evil to pass” which means “the person completes, finishes and accomplishes wickedness, bad, affliction and adversity”. Solomon said the person who is “violent” narrows their physical “lips” used for speaking to accomplish wickedness and affliction.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we discover through Solomon how the “violent” person closes their physical eyes to imagine fraudulent and wicked acts, and they use their speech to cause wickedness and adversity. This is sinful behavior, and God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross defeat this type of sin. When we surrender to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and keep us away from “violent” people who imagine wicked deeds and use their voices to cause affliction and trouble in the lives of others.
Next time Solomon says, “the hoary head is a crown of glory”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
