In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “in the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble”, and in chapter fifteen and verse seven of Proverbs Solomon said, “the lips of the wise disperse knowledge” where we read,
The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish does not so.
The verse begins, “The lips of the wise disperse knowledge:” Solomon began with the words, “the lips” or “the physical lips used for speaking” “of the wise” which means “belonging to people who are skillful, shrewd and prudent” “disperse knowledge” or “scatter or spread discernment, perception, understanding and skill”. Solomon shared people who are shrewd and skilled spread discernment and understanding to others.
The verse goes on to say, “but the heart of the foolish does not so.” Solomon continued with the words, “but the heart” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover the soul, mind, will, desires, living being, conscience and seat of passions and affections” “of the foolish” which means “belonging to the dullards, simpletons, arrogant and stupid ones” “does not so” or “ in no way or manner disperses knowledge”. Solomon said the souls and minds of people who are simpletons and dullards do not scatter abroad discernment and understanding.
When we consider Solomon's words in this verse, we discover the difference between the “dispersing” of understanding from people who are “wise” and those who are “foolish”. God wants to give us His understanding and discernment, and when we obtain it, we are to spread it among others. God desires to have a personal intimate relationship with us through His Son Jesus who gave His life on the cross to pay for the sins of the whole world. When we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and teach us to use our voices to spread His wisdom and good news to everyone.
Next time Solomon says, “the sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
