In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “the beginning of strife is as when one lets out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with”, and in chapter seventeen and verse fifteen of Proverbs Solomon shares about, “he that justifies the wicked” where we read,
He that justifies the wicked, and he that condemns the just,
even they both are abomination to the LORD.
The verse begins, “He that justifies the wicked, and he that condemns the just, ...” Solomon began with the words, “he that justifies” or “the person whether male or female who makes righteous, cleansed and clear” “the wicked” which means “the person who is criminal, guilty of crimes, evil and hostile to God”, “and he that condemns the just” or “and the person whether male or female who vexes, disturbs and violates people who are lawful, righteous and correct” are as the following to Jehovah God. Solomon considered both the person who makes evil people right and the person who violates correct and righteous people.
The verse continues, “... even they both are abomination to the LORD.” Solomon added the words, “even they both are abomination” or “also and indeed they, those who justify the wicked and condemn the just, exist as disgusting, abominable and abhorrent” “to the LORD” which means “to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. Solomon said people who “justify the wicked” and “condemn the just” are disgusting and abhorrent to Jehovah God.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon how Jehovah God considers the person disgusting who makes evil people clean and vexes and disturbs people who are lawful and correct. He abhors making what is wrong as though it's right, and when a person violates righteous and lawful people, God considers it disgusting. God wants to save us from our sins, and keep us aligned with God's view of the “wicked and the just”. He accomplishes this through the death of His Son Jesus who died on the cross for our sins. When we yield to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and teach us to avoid those who abhorrent to Him when they “justify the wicked” and “condemn the just”.
Next time Solomon says, “wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
