In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “The heart of the righteous studies to answer: but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things”, and in chapter fifteen and verse twenty-nine of Proverbs Solomon said, “the LORD is far from the wicked” where we read,
The LORD is far from the wicked: but he hears the prayer of the righteous.
The verse begins, “The LORD is far from the wicked:” Solomon began with the words, “the LORD” or “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “is far from the wicked” which means “exists remote, distant and a great distance from people who are criminal, guilty of crimes, evil and hostile to God”. Solomon shared how Jehovah God distances Himself from people who are evil and hostile to Him.
The verse continues, “but he hears the prayer of the righteous.” Solomon added the words, “but he hears” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover Jehovah God listens, gives heed to, consents and agrees with” “the prayer” which means “the intercession, supplication and by implication a hymn” “of the righteous” or “belonging to people who are right, just, lawful and correct”. Solomon said Jehovah God listens to the orations and supplications of people who are lawful and just.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we discover through Solomon how Jehovah God keeps Himself at a distance from people who are criminal and evil, however, He listens to the intercessions of people who are lawful and just. God loves everyone, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, including the “wicked”, and He will forgive the sins and grant eternal life to everyone who believes and trusts in Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord”. Let all who read these words align themselves with God's lawful way of living, and should they find themselves “evil and hostile to Him”, may they humble themselves, repent of their sins and receive His Son Jesus into their lives.
Next time Solomon says, “the light of the eyes rejoices the heart”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
