In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil”, and in chapter sixteen and verse seven of Proverbs Solomon shared what happens, “when a man's ways please the LORD” where we read,
When a man's ways please the LORD, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
The verse begins, “When a man's ways please the LORD, ...” Solomon began with the words, “when a man's ways” or “at the time and moment the traveled road, journey, manner and habits of a person whether male or female” “please the LORD” which means “satisfy, are acceptable and favored by Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. Solomon presented the idea of a person's manner and habits being acceptable and favored by Jehovah God.
The verse goes on to say, “... he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.” Solomon continued with the words, “he makes even his enemies” or “the person whether male or female causes also and indeed their adversaries and foes” “to be at peace with him” which means “to exist as complete, sound, finished and made safe alongside the person”. Solomon said at the time a persons' paths and habits are acceptable and favored by Jehovah God, He will cause their hating foes to be sound and safe alongside them.
When we consider the words in this verse, we discover through Solomon when our habits and manners are acceptable to Jehovah God, He causes people who are odious to us to be safe and sound before us. God loves us, and His desire is to have a personal relationship with us through His Son Jesus who died on the cross for our sins. When we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and help us by His Holy Spirit to “please” Him in all our ways so our “enemies” will be “at peace” with us.
Next time Solomon says, “better is a little with righteousness”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
