Much Treasure in the House of the Righteous - Proverbs 15:6

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “a fool despises his father's instruction: but he that regards reproof is prudent”, and in chapter fifteen and verse six of Proverbs Solomon said, “in the house of the righteous is much treasure” where we read,

In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.

The verse begins, “In the house of the righteous is much treasure:” Solomon began with the words, “in the house” or “within the dwelling place, habitation and abode” “of the righteous” which means “belonging to people who are just, right, lawful and correct” “is much treasure” or “exists abundant, great and numerous amounts of riches and wealth”. Solomon shared how the dwelling place of people who are just and right exists with an abundant amount of riches and wealth.

The verse continues, “but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.” Solomon added the words, “but in the revenues” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover the produce, yield, gain and income” “of the wicked” which means “belonging to people who are criminal, guilty of crimes, evil and hostile to God” “is trouble” or “exists disturbance, calamity and affliction”. Solomon said the yield and gain of people who are evil and hostile to God is affliction and calamity.

When we think through Solomon's words in this verse, we discover the result of being right and just or evil and hostile to God. The dwelling place of people who act in a correct and lawful manner is to have a home filled with numerous riches, however, when people are criminal and do not regard Jehovah God, they bring difficulties and afflictions into their home. God wants to bless us, and He gave us His Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins so when we believe and trust in Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and fill our homes with abundant riches according to His perfect purposes and plans for us.

Next time Solomon says, “the lips of the wise disperse knowledge”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
