Commit Your Works unto the LORD - Proverbs 16:3

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weighs the spirits, and in chapter sixteen and verse three of Proverbs Solomon said, “commit your works unto the LORD” where we read,

Commit your works unto the LORD, and your thoughts shall be established.

The verse begins, “Commit your works unto the LORD, ...” Solomon began with the words, “commit your works” or “roll away and entrust your, the readers and listeners to Solomon's words, deeds, acts, labors, pursuits, undertakings and achievements” “unto the LORD” which means “toward Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. Solomon instructed his readers and listeners to entrust their acts and deeds to Jehovah God.

The verse goes on to say, “... and your thoughts shall be established.” Solomon continued with the words, “and your thoughts” or “and your, the people reading and listening to his words', devices, plans, purposes and inventions” “shall be established” which means “will exist as firm, fixed, made stable, secure and enduring”. Solomon told his readers and listeners that their plans and purposes would exist as fixed and secure.

When we think through Solomon's words in this verse, we learn if we entrust our acts and deeds to Jehovah God, our plans and purposes will be made stable and firm by Him. God is our Creator, and He loves us. He gave us the ability to pursue achievements and undertakings, and when we “commit” them to Him, He blesses us with stable and secure purposes. God's plan of salvation for mankind was to send His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and teach us to trust Him with our plans as He makes them stable and firm.

Next time Solomon says, “the LORD has made all things for himself”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
