The LORD has Made All Things for Himself - Proverbs 16:4

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “Commit your works unto the LORD, and your thoughts shall be established, and in chapter sixteen and verse four of Proverbs Solomon said, “the LORD has made all things for himself” where we read,

The LORD has made all things for himself: yes, even the wicked for the day of evil.

The verse begins, “The LORD has made all things for himself:” Solomon began with the words, “the LORD” or “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “has made all things” which means “has ordained, derived and produced each, every, the whole and everything” “for himself” or “on behalf of Jehovah God's own self”. Solomon said Jehovah God produced everything on behalf of His own self.

The verse continues, “yes, even the wicked for the day of evil.” Solomon added the words, “yes, even the wicked” or “moreover, indeed and also people who are criminal, guilty of crime, evil and hostile to God” “for the day of evil” which means “on behalf of the time or period pertaining to affliction, hurt, bad, adversity and wickedness”. Solomon said Jehovah God “made” people who are criminal and hostile to God for the time period pertaining to wickedness and affliction.

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon how Jehovah God created everything that exists for His own self including people who are wicked and adverse to Him. There is a “day” or time period when disaster and trouble will come. God will judge the “wicked”, and between now and then, He offers salvation to everyone who surrenders their lives to His Son Jesus who died on the cross for every wicked and “evil” sin that has ever and will ever be committed. When we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and help us to realize He “made” everything for Himself and shall certainly deal with people who are “evil” in His own purpose and time.

Next time Solomon says, “every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
