In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “the fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honor is humility”, and in chapter sixteen and verse one of Proverbs Solomon shared about, “the preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue” where we read,
The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.
The verse begins, “The preparations of the heart in man, ...” Solomon began with the words, “the preparations” or “the arrangements, mental disposition and plans” “of the heart in man” which means “pertaining to the soul, mind, will, desires, living being, conscience and seat of emotions and affections within a person whether male or female”. Solomon shared how the arrangements and plans within the soul, mind and will of a person are as follows.
The verse goes on to say, “... and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.” Solomon continued with the words, “and the answer of the tongue” or “and the response and reply from the wedge in the mouth used for speaking” “is from the LORD” which means “exist from Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. Solomon said Jehovah God gave people the ability to use their “tongues” to respond to people and circumstances.
When we consider the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon the origin of the plans and mental disposition as well as the response of the “tongue”. God is the Creator of all people, and He is well aware of any thoughts, words and plans that we make. When we align ourselves with His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and inspire our souls to plan and respond according to His Divine purposes and plans.
Next time Solomon says, “all the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
