In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud”, and in chapter sixteen and verse twenty of Proverbs Solomon said, “he that handles a matter wisely shall find good” where we read,
He that handles a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusts in the LORD, happy is he.
The verse begins, “He that handles a matter wisely shall find good:” Solomon began with the words, “he that handles a matter wisely” or “the person whether male or female who manages acts, deeds, causes, sayings or work with skill, shrewdness and prudence” “shall find good” which means “will attain, secure, acquire and discover pleasantness, agreeableness, valuableness and excellence”. Solomon shared how the person who manages a work or act in a skillful and shrewd manner will discover value and excellence within it.
The verse continues, “and whoso trusts in the LORD, happy is he.” Solomon added the words, “and whoso trusts” or “and whatever person who has faith, confidence and security” “in the LORD” which means “within Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”, “happy is he” or “blessed exists the person whether male or female”. Solomon said the person who puts their faith and confidence within Jehovah God exists as blessed.
When we consider Solomon's words in this verse, we learn there is a benefit to conducting ourselves in a skillful manner with our works, acts and deeds. We will be rewarded with goodness when we manage ourselves wisely, and we have an additional blessing if we put our confidence within Jehovah God. God is for us and not against us. He wants a personal relationship with us through His Son Jesus who died on the cross for our sins, and when we surrender to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and cause us to use His wisdom in all we do as we put our faith and trust in Him.
Next time Solomon says, “the wise in heart shall be called prudent”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
