Eating the Labor of Your Hands - Psalms 128:2

In Psalms one hundred twenty-eight the Psalmist said, “Blessed is every one that fears the LORD; that walks in his ways” and in chapter one hundred twenty-eight and verse two of Psalms the Psalmist said, “you shall eat the labor of your hands” where we read,

For you shall eat the labor of your hands: happy shall you be, and it shall be well with you.

The verse begins, For you shall eat the labor of your hands: The Psalmist began with the words, “for you shall eat” or “because, since and on account that you, the people who fear and obey the LORD, will consume and devour” “the labor” which means “the toil, produce and acquired property as a result of work” “of your hands” or “belonging to your, the person who fears and obeys the LORD's, physical hands of power, strength and might”. The Psalmist said the people who fear and obey Jehovah God will consume the toil and work of their own physical “hands”.

The verse goes on to say, “happy shall you be, and it shall be well with you. The Psalmist continued with the words, “happy shall you be” or “blessed will you, the person who fears and obeys the LORD, exist”, “and it shall be well with you” which means “and it, the manner of living, will exist as good, pleasant, excellent, rich, valuable and appropriate”. The Psalmist said the people who revere and obey Jehovah God will not only be blessed, but also enjoy a good, pleasant and valuable life.

When we meditate upon the Psalmist's words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist added additional benefits that are afforded to people who revere and obey Jehovah God. They will consume the fruits of their work, they will be blessed and enjoy a rich and excellent life. God wants to bless us, and we become the most blessed when we yield ourselves to His Son Jesus who died on the cross for our sins. When we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and bless us in our work and in our manner of living.

Next time the Psalmist says, “your wife shall be as a fruitful vine”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
