In Psalms one hundred nineteen the Psalmist said to Jehovah God, “My soul has kept your testimonies; and I love them exceedingly”, and in chapter one hundred and nineteen and verse one hundred and sixty eight of Psalms the Psalmist said to Jehovah God, “I have kept your precepts and your testimonies” where we read,
I have kept your precepts and your testimonies: for all my ways are before you.
The verse begins, “I have kept your precepts and your testimonies:” The Psalmist began with the words, “I have kept” or “I, the Psalmist, have guarded, watched over, taken heed to and observed” “your precepts” which means “your, Jehovah God's, statutes, ordinances and commandments” “and your testimonies” or “and your, Jehovah God's, Divine witnesses”. The Psalmist shared how he observed the statutes, ordinances and Divine witnesses of Jehovah God.
The verse continues, “for all my ways are before you.” The Psalmist added the words, “for all my ways” or “because, since and on account that each, every, the whole and everyone of my, the Psalmist's journeys, paths, traveled road and direction” “are before you” which means “exist in front of and in the presence of you, Jehovah God”. The Psalmist said everyone of his journeys and traveled roads were carried out in the presence of Jehovah God.
When we think through the Psalmist's words in this verse, we discover how he observed the statutes and Divine witnesses of Jehovah God. He knew God observed and was with him wherever he went, and by observing God's ways, He could manage any situation or circumstance that arrived. God loves us, and He provided His law and commandments to give us the best life possible not only on the earth, but also in Heaven with Him. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for our sins, and when we believe and trust in Him as our “Lord and Savior”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life with Him and give us an opportunity to keep His commandments as we live before His eyes.
Next time we begin the last section of Psalms one hundred and nineteen that employs the Hebrew letter “TAU” where the Psalmist says, “let my cry come near before you, O LORD”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
