Not Allowing Your Foot to be Moved - Psalms 121:3

In Psalms one hundred twenty-one David said, “I will lift up my eyes unto the hills, from where comes my help. My help comes from the LORD, which made heaven and earth”, and in chapter one hundred twenty-one and verse three David said of Jehovah God, “he will not suffer your foot to be moved” where we read,

He will not suffer your foot to be moved: he that keeps you will not slumber.

The verse begins, He will not suffer your foot to be moved: David began with the words, “he will not suffer your foot” or “he, Jehovah God, shall not in any way or manner allow or permit your, those reading and hearing David's words, physical foot, step or stand” “to be moved” which means “to shake, waver, totter or fall”. David shared how Jehovah God would not allow his or his fellow believers' step or stand to totter and shake.

The verse continues, “he that keeps you will not slumber. David added the words, “he that keeps you” or “he, Jehovah God, who guards, observes, gives heed and protects you, the people listening and hearing David's words” “will not slumber” which means “shall in no way or manner be dormant, drowsy or sleepy”. David said Jehovah God watches over and gives heed to the people reading and hearing his words, and He is never drowsy or sleepy while He observes.

When we think through David's words in this verse, we discover how he knew Jehovah God would not allow people who believe and trust in Him to totter or shake in their way of living, and He doesn't sleep while He observes them. God loves us, and He wants to have a personal relationship with us through His Son Jesus. He sent Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we surrender our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and stay wide awake while He observes us and keeps our standing steady and secure.

Next time the Psalmist says, “behold, he that keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
