In Psalms one hundred nineteen the Psalmist said, “I have longed for your salvation, O LORD; and your law is my delight”, and in chapter one hundred nineteen and verse one hundred and seventy-five of Psalms the Psalmist said to Jehovah God, “let my soul live, and it shall praise you” where we read,
Let my soul live, and it shall praise you; and let your judgments help me.
The verse begins, “Let my soul live, and it shall praise you;” The Psalmist began with the words, “let my soul live” or “allow and permit my, the Psalmist's, heart, mind, will, desires, conscience, living being and seat of emotions and passions remain alive, sustain life, live prosperously, be quickened and restored to life”, “and it shall praise you” which means “and it, the Psalmist's soul, will adore, be boastful, commend and celebrate you, Jehovah God”. The Psalmist said if Jehovah God would allow his heart, mind and will to remain alive, he would adore and celebrate Him.
The verse goes on to say, “and let your judgments help me.” The Psalmist continued with the words, “and let your judgments” or “and allow and permit your, Jehovah God's, justice, rightness, process, procedure and act of deciding a case” “help me” which means “succor, give aid and assistance to me, the Psalmist”. The Psalmist appealed to Jehovah God to allow His justice and rightness to give him aid and assistance.
When we consider the words in this verse, we learn how the Psalmist wanted Jehovah God to allow him to remain alive so he could continue to give him adoration and commendation. The Psalmist desired to have Jehovah God to allow His righteous manner of acting to give him aid. God loved the Psalmist, and the Psalmist loved God. God wants to have this type of personal intimate relationship with us as well, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind to prove it. When we yield our lives to Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life as He keeps us alive to honor and celebrate Him for all eternity as His righteous ways provides assistance.
Next time we finish the one hundred and nineteenth chapter of Psalms where we see the Psalmist say, “I have gone astray like a lost sheep”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
