In Psalms one hundred twenty-eight the Psalmist said, “Your wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of your house: your children like olive plants round about your table. Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that fears the LORD” and in chapter one hundred twenty-eight and verse five of Psalms the Psalmist said, “the LORD shall bless you out of Zion” where we read,
The LORD shall bless you out of Zion:
and you shall see the good of Jerusalem all the days of your life.
The verse begins, “The LORD shall bless you out of Zion:” The Psalmist began with the words, “the LORD” or “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “shall bless you” which means “ will praise, salute and congratulate you, the people who obey and reverence Jehovah God” “out of Zion” or “from Zion whose name means parched place and is another name for Jerusalem especially in the prophetic books”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God would praise and salute the people reverence and obey Jehovah God from the city of Jerusalem.
The verse continues, “and you shall see the good of Jerusalem all the days of your life.” The Psalmist added the words, “and you shall see” or “and you, the people who reverence and obey Jehovah God, will look at, consider, perceive, inspect and observe” “the good of Jerusalem” which means “the prosperity, goodness, beauty and welfare belonging to Jerusalem whose name means teaching of peace and is the chief city of Palestine and capital of the united kingdom and the nation of Judah after the split” “all the days” or “each, every, the whole of the sunrises to sunsets” “of your life” which means “pertaining to your, the people reading and listening to the Psalmist's words, living and being alive”. The Psalmist said the people who are “blessed” by Jehovah God would observe the beauty and welfare belonging to the city of “Jerusalem” for each and every “day” of their lives.
When we meditate upon the Psalmist's words in this verse, we see how he knew the people within “Zion” or “Jerusalem” would be “blessed” as they observed the city's prosperity and beauty throughout their lives. God loves to bless people, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind to bless them forever. When we surrender our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to observe Him “blessing” the city of “Jerusalem” throughout our lives and for all eternity. (See Revelation 3:12, 21:2)
Next time the Psalmist says, “yes, you shall see your children's children”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
