My Tongue Shall Speak of God's Word - Psalms 119:172

In Psalms one hundred nineteen the Psalmist said, “My lips shall utter praise, when you have taught me your statutes”, and in chapter one hundred nineteen and verse one hundred and seventy-two of Psalms the Psalmist said to Jehovah God, “my tongue shall speak of your word” where we read,

My tongue shall speak of your word: for all your commandments are righteousness.

The verse begins, My tongue shall speak of your word: The Psalmist began with the words, “my tongue” or “my, the Psalmist's, physical tongue which is used for speaking” “shall speak of your word” which means “will utter, declare and proclaim your, Jehovah God's, speech, utterance and commandment”. The Psalmist said he would employ his physical “tongue” to utter the commandments of Jehovah God.

The verse continues, “for all your commandments are righteousness. The Psalmist added the words, “for all your commandments” or “ because, since and on account that each, every, the whole and everyone of your, Jehovah God's, ordinances, precepts and laws” “are righteous” which means “exist as right, just, prosperous and victorious”. The Psalmist said the reason he would declare the commandment of God was because every one of God's ordinances and precepts are right and just.

When we consider the Psalmist's words in this verse, we learn how he employed the use of his physical “tongue” to honor Jehovah God's speech and commandment. He knew every one of God's laws are right and just, and they are meant for the good of mankind. God loves us, and He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and teach us to love His commands when we surrender to His Son Jesus who died on the cross for our sins. Let us use our “tongues” to give adoration and praise to Jehovah God on behalf of His love and compassion toward us through His caring law.

Next time the Psalmist says to Jehovah God, “let your hand help me” so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
